HOW TO ADD A WHATSAPP CHAT BUTTON TO YOUR WORDPRESS WEBSITE
WhatsApp has over the years become a very powerful messaging platform. A lot f small and big businesses now use the WhatsApp chat button to make it easier to communicate with customers directly from their website.
All you need is to have whatsapp installed on your phone and then add the whatsapp button to your wordpress website. This will make it very possible for clients who visist your web page either from their mobile device oor from their mobile phones to chat directly with you through whatsaapp messenger on their phone.

To add a whatsaappp button to your wordpress website you need to have the following.
- A website Hosting
- A Domain Name
- WordPress Installed on your domain

Once you have WordPress installed on your website then follow the following steps to configure the WhatsApp chat button on your website.
- Login to your admin area using your wordpress username and password:
Once you login successfully it takes you to a page as shown below:
Mouse over the plugins area as shown below and click on Add New Plugin. The Add New Plugin option in WordPress makes it possible for users to add custom plugins to the WordPress website. WordPress plugins are known to be very good for extending the functionality of your core WordPress website.
In the page displayed click on the upload plugin option as shown below:
Then choose and select the choose file option as displayed below:
Browse and navigate to where you have the Ultimate WhatsApp chat plugin downloaded on your system and install from there.
Select the ultimate WhatsApp chat plugin and click on open to install the WhatsApp chat plugin on your device.
Click on Install now to install the whatsApp plugin.
The plugin starts installing as shown in the diagram below and upon complete installation there is an activate button right below to request that the plugin be activated.
Click on the Activate plugin option to activate the plugin as shown below:
Click on the ultimate whatsapp chat option to start configuring the plugin.
The following settings should be considered while configuring.
GENERAL SETTINGS
Nothing needs to be done here just leave the default settings as they are.
USER ACCOUNTS
Click on Add New User Account as shown in the diagram below:
Fill in the appropriate fields as shown below:
Username
Phone number
Account Name
User account id will be automatically generated once you enter username
Once all the fields have been inputted. Click on save
Click on the FLOATING WIDGET Option
Click on Add New Floating widget as shown in the diagram below:
Enter the widget name as shown below.
Widget id will be automatically generated when you enter widget name
VISIBILITY
You can leave the default settings here
CALL TO ACTION
The diagram below will make it possible for the widget to open automatically upon entering the website.
WIDGET BUTTON
You can leave the default settings here. There is no need to change anything here.
WIDGET POPU UP WINDOW
You can also leave the default settings here.
GPDR
This can be turned off for a start
USER ACCOUNTS
Make use of the default settings here as well for a start.
THEME
Choose a desired theme of your choice out of the three and make use of it.
You can change button colors, popup up windows colors and even choose the widget position i.e. left or right from this options.
Once you are done with the above changes, click on save.
The WhatsApp button takes effect on the website as shown below and your users can chat with you directly from your website via WhatsApp chat. On the website click on the whatsApp chat button to initiate a WhatsApp chat conversation.
